In fact, Applying for a new airtel broadband connection is really easy, but the problem lies in the availability of connections in your location. I mean not all the areas in a city or any town will have good number of airtel connections available. On 18 Aug 2009, I requested for a new Airtel broadband connection. The customer care told me that my connection would be done in 2 days and the connection is not active for more than 8-9 days. I got vexed up with their service and cancelled my connection. Now, Let me tell you something, this is not true for all the cases. I mean, if your location has good number of airtel connections available then you might get a new connection in time. But, don’t ever never expect faster connection, because Airtel services are becoming little drowsy these days.
Well now its time to talk about the plans available at Airtel, let me just talk about the UNLIMITED plans first. There are 4 most widely used unlimited plans for now and they are listed below.
799 Rupees plan is the first unlimited plan available with airtel. The speed is about 256 KBPS and the rental would be 1 Rupee per call. No free call value is available for this plan.
899 Rupees plan is almost like the 799 plan but the it has 100 free Local and STD calls. That’s the only difference. However I would seriously suggest you to go with 799 Rupees plan rather than wasting money with 899 plan. I mean you can probably save some of your money going for 799.
1999 Rupees plan is next plan which has unlimited downloads and upload options available. This is available in the above mentioned plans as well. The speed goes to 512 KBPS in this plan. You will also be provided with 100 free local or STD calls in this plan.
2999 Rupees plan is the final home plan that is available at airtel. You will have unlimited upload and download options enabled. The maximum download speed would be 2 MBPS. 300 FREE local and STD calls will be gifted to you if choose this plan.
However, to save money you could also opt to limited plan. If you choose to go for a limited plan, then I would suggest you to go for 598 Rupees plan. The plan has download speed of 256 KBPS and, the maximum free download is up to 3 GB and if you cross that limit, you would be charged for every Mega Bites of download.
