Airtel:Talking a bit about Airtel Broadband, they have very good plans that suits wide variety of users. The company provides good internet speed with good prices that will come very handy for your homely budget. Although their customer support is not that great, you can find a proper help if you can just drop into a near by airtel office ( Custom relationship center ). Well you can use unlimited 799 plan to make most use of home internet. A new scheme is introduced in airtel, where when applying for a new broadband connection, you can pay 5 times the plan amount and avoid the registration fee of 1000 rupees.
Say for instance if you applied for a new broadband connection with 799 plan, you can pay 3995 Rupees and avoid 1000 rupees registration fee. With this you will get 6 months of free airtel broadband connection on your phone. However, 450 rupees service tax is appliacable for this 3995 rupees you paid. This amount will be charged in your first bill. And for the rest of the 5 months you will only be charged for the number of calls you make from your Airtel landline.
BSNL: BSNL, which is often considered as the largest telecom service provider in India; is also good in providing great Broadband services. They provide cost effective services but, if you have a problem at some point you may not find proper help from them. Tata Indicom: Tata indicom a giant private telecom service provide also provides Broadband services. They are really good in getting you the connection and stuff. Their customer support is good too. But, I often believe that their server goes down some times during busy hours. I personally experienced the problem in the place I worked some time before.
Reliance: Reliance, the greatest Indian companies of all time is also a Good Broadband service provider in India. Their services are restricted to a particular area. You can get a connection to almost any place in India. But, these guys are a bit costly. If you are looking for a broadband connection is a remote place I guess you can look at this company.

Latest Technology info, 
Tata Indicomm Broadband. Absolutely pathetic customer service. Poor speeds and frequent connectivity problems even in proper Chennai. No one in customer care has a clue as to how to talk to a customer and no technical knowledge. Sincerely do not recommended Tata Indicomm Broadband at all based on my harrowing experience in spite of being a long standing customer for over 7 years. Even senior managers do not bother to respond to genuine complaints. Absolutely hopeless. Not recommended at all.
