Its been long time since I posted an article on fifa 10 which is my most favorite game of all time. In this article let me give you some basic and few advanced tricks to improve your defending tactics. So, let’s start the game right away.

FIFA 10 is pretty much an attacking game like fifa 09 and unlike fifa 08. But, better defending should always prevent some goals even when you are playing against pro players.
First and the most important point while defending against a strong player is to back up your defenders the moment you lost the ball to your opponent. That’s crucial, pro players can easily take advantage of your attack if you try to defend them right after loosing the ball. Keeping this simple rule in mind should certainly save you some goals.
Don’t attack your opponent when he is rotating the ball in his own half. This is one of the most common mistake done by most of the players. This type of practice would waste the strength and energy levels of your strikers which would effect the teams performance in the closing stages of the game.
FIFA 10 is unlike other versions of EA games in terms of defending. Strength, Stamina and Reactions of your defenders plays vital role when defending a good striker. So make sure to have a defender who has great numbers for all the above mentioned attributes.
Avoid sliding tackle, for most part of the game. Many Fifa players take RED card for harsh tackles on the strikers. And you would obviously end up loosing the game. It’s ok to use sliding tackles if you are a professional player and can manage the timing of the tackle.
Fifa 10 supports wide varieties of long range shots. Don’t give too much room to the opponent striker, especially when the striker is approaching your post. The shooting accuracy goes down when the striker is under pressure.
So, these are some of the defending tricks you can use to have better control over the game.
