Google Caffeine Search Engine Factors – Justification

I felt really sad after knowing that my previous article (Google Caffeine Search Engine Factors) is on its way in gathering some bad reputation all over. Now, this article is posted in response to this article which I noticed at about 8PM tonight and I just want to make things clear about the points the author mentioned in this article.

Loading time of your website/blog:
Google has recently updated its webmaster tools where they included an option that’s called “Site performance” which can be located under “labs” section. Do you know when that option was enabled? Well, I guess it’s around in the first week of November. Now, why do you think Google enabled this option? I don’t know what you believe but, this is what I feel about it. Google is recommending its users to reduce the page loading as the new algorithm has some effect on the SERP results and the PR of a web page. Matt cutts in a recent interview to webpronews said “page speed may soon be a ranking factor”.
Top level domains:
This is considered because of the fact that .gov and .edu sites are ranked higher than any other tld’s. That’s the only reason why I included this in the list.
Server Location:
Its very clealy know fact the serp results vary from location to location in search engines. For example if you visit Google India and search for mobile stores, you should see the following results. If you visit Google UK and search for same keyword you should see the following result. You should notice that both the results vary from each other and Server location is one of the factor that differentiates these results.
Proper structure and Code:
I was actually talking about the correctness of code rather than structure of the code. Did you ever notice Google webmaster forums? The experts out their often point to this URL to verify the structure of the code for improvements, why do you think they prescribe it often. I seriously believe that the correctness of code is a factor in SERP results, this mayn’t be a crucial factor but I feel its one of the factor among the 200 factors that affects the rankings of a web page.
Previous penalty on the site:
The author of the article I pointed above said that he was hit by a penalty with in a month (Correction:I feel that its a Google sandbox effect). Sandbox effect has nothing to do with penalty. Now, let’s come back to the point. If somebody faced a penalty, then it should cast him/her a negative vote for the misdeed he/she has done. I mean, if he/she didn’t do anything that violates Google TOS they wouldn’t be subjected to Google penalty and I don’t think Google can leave then just like that for the misdeed they’ve done. They would surely have a penalty flag for the penalties in the past but it will not be revealed by Google. (This point is just my assumption as an SEO, please don’t it seriously).
Visitors from Search Engines:
Well, the intention of this (visitors from search engine) is just to point out the relevancy of the search. If you are searching for something(“Best Football Team in England”) you will end up with 10 results. Google tracks the clicks on the results page, and ranks a result higher if it gets more number of clicks than expected. Let me explain the reason for ranking a page higher.
For almost any search in Google, the first result gets more number of click than any other results. Sometimes second result gets more number of clicks than the first result and sometimes third and goes on, Now, this means the second result is more relevant than the first result for that particular keyword search. Now, obviously after some period Google shifts the SERP positions because of the priority the second result is getting for a particular keyword search. I hope this makes things clear.
Any comments and suggestions are very much appretiated.

Hi provamsi,
While your points do make sense in this post. I look at the larger picture. While there are a lot of advice available online, I take those without any hands-on examples with a pinch of salt.
I guess things are very much clear to you now. Thanks for coming back.
You have made a good justification friend.. I also read the article of anand you mentioned above… I try to follow the tips in my blog sure…
@ deepika, Thanks a lot. I guess its always a good idea to follow these steps for better tomorrow.
All the point mentioned above is good but I have some doubt with point “Proper structure and Code” as I see most of the well known site like Techcrunch, Mashable are not a well structured site if you take validation. As Matt already said – don’t think about PR, think about good SEO. I just concentrating on SEO now for better SERP result for each of my article.
@ Arafat, dude, proper structure of code is just one factor. Lot of websites don’t follow then but still rank high. Its good to have proper code as it is one of the ranking factor.
