How to Chance Mobile Operator | Service Provider Using MNP
The most awaiting MNP service is out in Haryana starting from today. We noticed a friendfeed share from one of the users. The service allows you to transfer your mobile number from one operator to another if you are not satisfied with your existing operator. Which means you can transfer your number from/to (Airtel, Aircel, Vodafone, BSNL, IDEA) with ease. The maximum amount you will be charged is Rupees 19 and it takes maximum of 4 days for the transfer.

The service will start expanding for few other states in the country later on this year. So, here is the procedure you have to follow to get things done.
STEP1: Send an SMS to 1900 in the following format. Port(leave a space)<Your-Mobile-Number>
Eg: Port 9988988988
STEP2: You should then receive a Unique Porting Code (UPC) number from your operator. Keep it safe.
STEP3: You have to fill up application form of the new operator you want to switch to using the Unique Porting Code (UPC) you got from your previous operator. You should also submit your address proof as usual.
STEP4: In the mean while you will receive a message from your previous operator saying that your number will be disconnected. It takes some time to get the new connection from the new operator. Your number will stay disconnected until you get new connection from new operator.
STEP5: Collect the SIM card of the new service provider and wait until your connection is active. Once the connection is active you can use the SIM as usual and you will have the same old mobile number you had before.
