How to Use Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) Debit Card Online
|
|
Well, the first few transactions with my Indian overseas bank debit card were completely disappointing. I had no clue how to use these cards safely on the internet for online purchase or shopping. After few unsuccessful attempts I managed to find a way to use these cards cleverly. I purchased a movie ticket with my Indian Overseas Bank Debit Card. So, this post is for people who are still finding difficulties using their debit card. I hope this can help at lease few of those who are looking for help.

Before I can explain you further, let me just remind you of something you should never do. Please don’t share your card number or your pin numbers with anybody, even with the bank employees.
To make payments on the internet, you should have an online bank account to check your transactions. If you don’t have any, then take your time to apply for it first. Application forms are available on the internet. Download, fill it and apply. If your application is approved, you should receive an email from the bank with all the details you need to know.
Now, to make a purchase it’s important to mention your name that matches the name in your bank account book. Enter your card number, expiry date and the three digit pin number (the number that follows your card number at the back of the card), correctly or else your transaction would be cancelled.
If you are using International Debit card (VISA) from Indian overseas bank, then make sure to enroll in IOB Electronic Payments. If you are making a first payment online, then the bank would ask you to enroll, before you can make any payment.
Register by entering your email and the password. Make a note of the password you used to apply for enrolling in IOB Electronic Payments. The password will not be sent to your email after registration; however, you will get a confirmation email stating the status of your application.
You can make online payments only after getting approved from IOB Electronic Payments; once you are approved you are ready to go!!
All you need to do is to enter your card number, expiry date and 3 digit pin. Once you click on pay, then you will be asked to enter your IOB Electronic Payments password, if you successfully enter it, then your payment must be done.
