HP Touch Pad: Very First WebOS Tablet

Hewlett-Packard’s is soon launching its first tablet, the HP Touch Pad. This tablet is like no other in the market. With its 9.7 inch XGA capacitive multi touch display with a resolution 1024×768, we suppose that the tablet will take the market in a storm.

Now the interesting thing about this tab is that its the first WebOS tablet designed as of now. The touchpad is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-Core processor and is available in 16GB and 32GB internal memory models. The touch pad runs on a WebOS operating system.

The tablet houses a 1.3Mp front facing camera along with Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS support, Bluetooth, microUSB port. The dimension of the tablet is 190 mm x 242 mm x 13.7 mm, a little thicker that its various other competitors. The tablet weighs about 740gms, a lot heavier that the latest tablets releasing this year.

Other unique feature which HP is has added to this tablet is Beats Audio sound technology which we commonly find in HP laptops for a far better sound quality experience. The tablet also has a full QWERTY keyboard and a 3.5mm audio jack. The rumour mill is predicting a release sometime this June with the price tag varying somewhere between $499 and $699. Yet nothing has been disclosed yet and the company is keeping their lips sealed on the matter.
