HTC Rhyme – a pure women luxury!!

Most smartphones comes genderless in a very formal dressup of black, grey or white. But HTC has stepped in with a difference, HTC has come up with a product breaking this trend and is purely a women’s luxury.

Rhyme is one of the latest additions to the Verizon wireless line up. However the phone does’nt boasts of a massive touch screen/multi touchscreen display, or a dual core processor. This time the company has laid all its concentration in rendering the accessories attached with the product.

Lets have a deep look at Rhyme…

DESIGN/HARDWARE: The device is especially a women’s one. The juicy grapy purple dip all around reflects that very well. Infact the accessories like the boxpacking, the earphones or the newly introduced lighted indicator charm are all dwelled in a world of purple or rather say a plum shade-which gives it a monochrome look on a whole. The phone fits very comfortably in smaller hands which again reflects on it being a ladies tool.

It sports a standard 3.7 inches WVGA touch sensitive TFT display. The display is an average one. It renders sharp and clear graphics but doesn’t stand out with that sharpness in daytime under the sunlight. As far as the clarity goes, the phone boasts off a 252ppi screen.

On top of that the screen ,there resides a VGA camera (0.3 mega pixel) which is fit for video calling purpose.

Below the screen lies 4 massive buttona which includes the repetedly used options like that of the home, menu ,back and search option buttons.Coming to the backside, the back portion is shared by a 5 megapixel autofocus camera and a poorly built speaker.

The large power button coupled with a noise cancelling microphone on top is quite noticable. However the side volume rocker is a bit difficul to identify with the help of fingers due to its sleeky built.,it also supports a microUSB socket on the right side along with the volume rocker.

The company along with the phone, provides you with a pair of earbuds and a desktop charging dock, which normally isn’t provided by other companies.

The handset comes packed in a candybar form moulded by the HTC’s signature soft-touch plastic. It measures 4.69*2.39*0.43 inches. ie., 119.13*60.7*10.9mm weighing just 4.58 ounces or rather say 130grams. Despite being a woman’s phone ,it feels solid enough to hold.

INTERFACE: The Rhyme is the first HTC smartphone on Verizon which is packed with the all new HTC Sense UI3.5 interface. Earlier also Sense has left its stamp in our minds due to the extensive customization space it provides! and the Sense UI3.5 extended this freedom to a much greater level. It makes you feel the real master as it gives you a heck lot of choice in customizing your device. First of all, it provides easy access buttons of phone, mail, camera and messages on the lock-screen styles to choose from(photoalbum, current, weather, clock, stocks, friendStream). For the desktop it has come up with three different skins( HTC, Turquoise and Verizon). It also has a plenty of widgets, nearly 30.

PERFORMANCE: The Rhyme incorporates Qualcomm’s MSM8655, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor with Adreno 205GPU. It is a strong processor equipped with 768MB of RAM. And the Android2.3.4 Gingerbread and HTC Sense UI3.5 makes it ultra responsive and a delight to use. It supports the WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth3.0+, EDR , CDMA/EVDO Rev. , A-GPS.

Infact the sound quality of the phone is also above avarage while handling a call. The true luxury of the handset is its battery life. It houses a 1600mAh battery which can’t be moved out of the device. It renders 440minutes of service ie., around 7hours at a stretch, So it can carry on for 24 hours wittout recharging in between.

ACCESSORIES: HTC has kept a deep interest in the field of accessories related to the Rhyme. There was a pleasant change.

Specially the Purse Charm, is the apple of everybodie’s eyes. It plugs directly into the headphone jack and lights up when a call rings at your door ie, when an incoming call is received.

The other accessory  isnt that great in terms if its quality, it is the tangle free headphones- these are not of that hype. The sound quality cropping up in the earbuds is a bit torn out, and noisy.

The best and most efficient accessory provided by the company is the desktop charging dock-which is a perfect stand for angling the screen perfectly for a movie watch or so that the handset turns exactly into a traditional alrm clock.

CAMERA: It proudly displays the 5 megapixel rear camera studded in its juicy body. The autofocus camera is also loaded with exciting features. You can add fun effects like Distortion without downloading any external app. It provides a set of options like Whitebalance, ISO and resolution for the perfect photography session.

The rear camera is capable of shooting 720p video and even supports a lower resolution or slow motion speed’s capture.

Even the front facing camera is capable of shooting a still or video at a resolution of 640*480pixels, it also has the talent for shooting at a lower resolution if required.

Overall the phone with HTC Sense 3.5 interface,a 5megapixel camera, good call quality and the great battery life is a good package of features all together immersed i complete purple world. Its current prices is $199.99 with a 2-year contract.
