To increase the follower count instantly, its important to have some reputation. If you are not so famous then there is nothing to worry, you can always ask your friends to follow you. I have noticed that not too many people are interested in Google buzz. Ask people like them to create a profile and follow you. Teach them (your friends) how to use it, point some of the video tutorials available so that they can join it. You should find a gradual increase in Google buzz followers for sure.
Alternatively, ask your friends in other social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Orkut to create a profile and follow you. This is a pretty good practice if you want to maintain a personal profile where you share your own personal information. However, if you are interested in a business profile then have a banner ad in your website or blog like the one I had to increase the follower count.
You can also send a email to all your friends with your Google buzz profile URL to all your friends. Request them to follow you if they already have a profile. In case your friends don’t have a profile then, request them to create one, and follow you.

@ Rajesh, I’m getting more spam comments these days buddy. I had no choice and that’s why I installed it. I know its a bit irritating but it is working well for me.
