Indian Scientists Getting Ready For GSLV-D3 Satellite Launch

Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) is all set for the launch on April 15 at 4.27 p.m. The 29 hour countdown stated this morning on April 14 (Wednesday). Indigenous cryogenic engine is used in the satellite for the very first time. The GSLV-D3 is an advanced communication satellite developed by India on its own, and the hundreds of Indian scientists worked day and night to get this ready.

This is one of the major satellite launched by India and the success of this mission would surely make the country as one of the global majors in launching satellites. The advanced technology is known to be mastered by very few countries and therefore the success of this satellite launch would list of space power nations like US, Russia, Japan and China.
Over 335 crore budget is spent on this project and all the Indian’s were very eager to see the successful launch tomorrow. 49 meter tall and 419 tonnes satellite will go through 3 major phases before getting into the orbit.
India took more than 15 long years to develop this cryogenic engine themselves. So, this satellite launch is very vital for India and its people.

Indegenious cryogenic engines are a huge step as it actually means a lot of other projects like ICBMs and the now not so well reported LCA aircraft production. Looking forward to this one.
