Match Fixing In Indian Premier League (IPL) 1-2-3?

Can you imagine the number of tabs I opened to find the suspected facts behind the IPL match fixing scam? It was 21 and there could be more anyway. Some of the top Indian website like Times of India says that Lalit Modi has interests in 3 IPL matches teams as per the investigations. Phone records were tracked to give the conclusions against the Big names in IPL.

It was also reported that some match fixing took place in some of the IPL matches that took place in South Africa last year. Sources (Times of India) also said that a secret report was also submitted to Finance Minister.
A web forums echarcha talks some of the match fixing scams that happened last year’s IPL. The website talks as follows… Note that these are just allegations from a stranger and you can find the full conversation out here at echarcha.
Bangalore is a team which was down in dumps until Anil Kumble took over captaincy. One close match and then they played out Mumbai like its Afghanistan vs Australia. If you have seen these matches you will know what I’m talking about.
Match one: B’lore v/s Mumbai
Highlights:
- Sachin getting out to a nonsense ball;
- Duminy apparently intimidated by Boucher and Kallis;
- Sachin not bowling Zaheer Khan, Malinga, Bhajji at right time, neither completing their over’s;
- Bringing himself on to bowl and getting belted by Uthappa who was trying last effort to get into T-20 world cup but coudln’t. All his ads down the drain now.
Effect: Bangalore remains in the hunt and their matched won’t be shunned by the public. Or else their 6-7 of remaining matched would be practice for opposition teams.
Match two: Chennai v/s Hyderabad
Highlights:
- Gilchrist getting out to a full ball when only day before he was belting like there’s no tomorrow.
- Gibbs getting bowled playing an easy shot to leg side, something he hits for 4 runs with ease.
- Laxman out on zero to Morkel.
Effect: Chennai appear in a strong position.
Coastal Digest says that the senior players like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid are pure and doesn’t have any links with these allegations.
Pretorianews says that 27 players might have involved in this match fixing scheme in last year’s i.e IPL-2 which took place in South Africa. These allegations were reported to Finance Minister very recently in a detailed report.

Well, I am reading a lot about these things. And I am quite shocked to know all these. Even, on my latest post..I can read the same thing happening. IPL is turning out to be IFL, Indian Fixing League. Still not sure..how much truth it has in it. But if its true then its really a very bad sign for the international cricket. I am quite sure that if these things keep on happening, then this fabulous game of cricket will lose it charm one day.
@ IFL, fake league, yes it certainly looks like this. Particularly after seeing yesterdays pre final match for third spot. DC were all out for 82.
