There are few mobile service providers who suit the needs for college students and few service providers for business people and the rest for house hold usage. Every mobile service provider has their own advantages and disadvantages. I will try to cover all these categories in this review. However, I cannot rank any service provider based on any factors instead I can give you my opinion about that particular service provider that is mentioned in the review. The review remains same for any part of India say Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi. Now let me start with airtel first.
Airtel:
Airtel would always be first preference . I would consider this company as one of the best mobile service provider in India. They also offer airtel broadband services, for a really affordable prices too. The companies services are vast and they provide good range of mobile services across india. However, I feel a bit uncomfortable with airtel broadband customer care department as I struggled to get correct information from them about my broadband connection.
BSNL:
BSNL on the other hand is considered as India’s largest mobile service provider. The company also offers BSNL Broadband connection too. They also recently launched 125 Rupees plan for the broadband where your monthly rental would be Rupees 125 only. However, service charges are applicable for this plan. Their mobile services are good but they seem to have less public interest because of the lack of awareness among people. Their customer services are not that great, but they provider wide range of services with great offers to the customers.
Vodafone:
Vodafone, the UK based mobile service provider, recently proved to be one of the best in the industry too. They provide good wide range of services in India. This company does not provide broadband services, but they concentrate heavily on their mobile sector. Sources say that, recently released zoozoo ads have attracted lot of customers for the company. I seriously believe that this service providers suits students, in fact I consider vodafone as the best mobile service provider for students.
Aircel:
Aircle was recently launched in southern india (in Chennai) became really famous really fast pace. They recently expanded their services to other parts of india like Tamil Nadu, Assam, North East, Orissa, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Kolkata, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Delhi, UP(West), UP(East), Maharashtra & Goa and Mumbai. They also offer wide range of services which include aircel pocket internet with which one can surf Internet at a really comfortable prices in their GPRS enabled mobile devices.
I would consider that, the above mentioned companies are the best mobile service providers in India. However, there may still be better service providers in India. We will update this post once we find better mobile service providers.

Beware of Airtel Pre-Paid:
Worst Customer Care for Pre-Paid clients – It is like a government unit. It is good only as long as there is no issue – If you want to get an issue resolved – you might as well give up.
I am having a really bad experience with Black Berry Services on airtel prepaid. I have been wasting 1-2 hours daily on customer care (both 7070 and 198) but no one seems to have a clue as to what needs to be done. So many times people just put me on hold for like 10 minutes before cutting the call. Every time I ask to speak to a supervisor – I am either cut off or put on hold and then cut off.
Here are the details of my issue:
– I had my blackberry curve 9300 handset stolen on 23rd April on which I had Rs. 399 monthly BB4 plan active from the 10th of April
– I purchased a duplicate sim card and a new blackberry curve 9300 on 24th April. The same day I called up the customer care (both 198 and 7070) – explained them the same and I was told the service will be activated in next 24 hours
– In the next 24 hours the service is not activated – I call up the customer care again and I am told the same thing. The service will be restored in the next 24 hours. A complaint has been registered with the server team – and they need to activate the service on your new handset.
– The same story continues on 26th and 27th also – the service will be activated in next 24 hours. Every time I tell them that I am hearing the same response from customer care – I am told that the complaint is escalated and it will deifinitely be solved.
– On 28th – the cutomer care executive (7070) tells me that If I really want the service to be restored immediately then I should deactivate the current BB services and then reactivate again. This way the services will DEFINITELY work. Based on this suggestion – I deactivate the services and again activate the services leading to deduction of Rs. 399 from my balance. However the services are not restored.
– I call up the customer care (7070) and they tell me the same story again – The server team need to activate the services and will be done in next 24 hours!!!! This is unbelievable. I was asked to deactivate the services and then activate so that the services will start working immediately!!! This is cheating the customer! Ask them to deactivate and then reactivate the services!
– I have tried to call the customer care three times today – and asked to talk to a Supervisor. Every time I have been put on hold for 8-9 minutes and then the call is cut!! What is happening in Airtel Customer Care – I am thinking of I should file a complaint against such behavior. So much of my time, effort and money has been wasted since Sunday.
Sincere advise to all consumers – Please switch to Vodafone or some other Service Provider using number portability option. I am definitely going to do so.
