The title of this post might look fairly interesting, Well, don’t bother if it isn’t. Now, first things first, let me come to the point right away, I woke up from bed at about 1:00 am worried about the fact that my blog is not getting indexed properly in Google. I don’t have any idea what went wrong. I started researching about things and found few interesting facts that can catch your imagination. So here is what I discovered. Read on to know more…

Did you ever, Google the title of your latest article, few minutes or hours after publishing? Well, if you find your blog indexed and ranking high, then there is no fault with your blog. In case your blog didn’t get indexed or failed to rank high, then there must be some issue that you have to worry about.
I know my blog is relatively new to this world of internet but, the point that bothers me is that there are few other blogs of almost same age doing well. There is no point in researching for things in well established blog, so I started researching for a blog of simar niche and similar age. I ended up the search shortly as I found one of my closest friends blog “Worthy Tips” which is doing well. The blog has strong SEO foundation and the template he is using is 100% SEO friendly.
I had a good look at his blog and found few points that’s worth sharing to you people. So, here are some of the points.
- Light Weight Theme
- Optimized post title
- Few links
- Rate of Posting
Optimize your blog for visitors
Light Weight Theme : He has a very light weight theme. His loading time is very low when compared to mine. The theme is trying to access a image file named note.png which is not available in the server, and that’s the only reason why his theme takes few more seconds, if he can correct it, his theme loads much faster. (Update: It seems he corrected it now and his theme loads much faster)
Optimized Page Title : Did you look at the url of every individual article in the blog, the maximum number of words in the URL is 6. His titles are completely optimized when compared to mine.
Few links : The number of links in his home page are very less when compared to mine. You will hardly find 20 links in the sidebar and 10 links in the footer and the header.
Rate of Posting : The rate at which he posts is really high. He posted 34 articles in the last one week from DEC 12 2009 to DEC 18 2009, that’s awesome numbers. That could be one of the factor for good ranking in Google for every individual posts.
I made all the necessary changes that should be done and waiting for the result. Make sure you follow all these points to improve your rankings for every individual articles.
I also visited Labnol, after a long time and Amit removed removed the flash file in his template and as a result his blog is loading much faster than before. Look at labnol’s loading time, you will be shocked to see this. Now, that’s a positive sign. Gagan from Beepthegeek has the same strategy as well.

As i am also a newbie in blogging these tips are helpful for me regarding SEO. I have a suggestion… Guest blogging also helps to increase traffic. But we have to search for blogs with similar niche and have to guest post. They will include a link back to the guest’s blog usually a content-based link. Search engine value of your blog will also get increased.

Good Article I am Spend Much Time Now Trying to Play by the Rules of Loading Time and Sometimes use Tools like Pingdom. What I can’t Understand Most of the Time is that Adsense Seems to Be Causing Pages to load Slowly. I tried using a Java Script Packer but then Adsense will not Work So Sometimes Google are Blaming us on their Problem

That’s alright friend, every blogger should learn a lesson from you.
Sometimes you gotto leave some scripts on your page. There is no other option, better concentrate on other stuff where you might get a hint to optimize a particular part of your page.

Im fixing on reducing my load time., The scripts and images are those that consume the space a lot.

Yes, minimize then dude. That’s what I did.
I think the post is not well formatted or say not well stuffed.. I have expected tips which helps in improving the index rate of the blog in SERP.. but i couldn’t find that.. you have just mentioned the points I think it would be better if u add the solution.. what do u say?? expecting the solutions for better index rate in ur next post..

Well, its not easy to rank higher in google rajesh, there is something called Google Honeymoon(fake name) where sites rank high initially and their rankings were dropped later on. Just see this; http://www.india365.org/it-seems-google-penalized-my-blog-india365

That’s great, but you should also take care of the other factors as well.
I partially disagree with you on point # 1 #3 i.e. In my opinion, Light Weight theme & Few Links. Light weight theme may help you in getting a good SERP in 2010 not now (PR will depend on page load also in 2010). Google’s Matt Cutts says Google has no issue till you cross 100 links, So no issues till you’re with in 100 links. For good SERP you need good keyword density in your post as well. I guess longer posts are better placed than shorter ones. I write fairly long posts and fortunately I am getting at least 5 of my 15 articles placed at 1st page of Google search for many keywords. Some of them are placed even at top 5. Though, till now I’ve not done anything to SEO optimize, even my blog loading is relatively slow.
