June 09, 2010: Computer prices are dropping down down from long time now. I have heard people saying that the prices had a great dip upto 10,000 Rupees in the past. But, today I am almost amazed to find the prices of PC’s in Ritchie Street Chennai.

8999 Rupees is what I saw in one of the pricing sheet given a retailer. Now, if you are wondering about the configuration of the pc, then here is it.
You will get a “Intel ATOM Processor”, “Intel D945GC” Mother Board. Now, this is not a great combination I should say but for 9000 rupees you can’t expect more. 1 GB DDR2 RAM with 160 GB Hard Disk are special. You will also get ATX case, normal keyboard, optical mouse and a 17 inch CRT monitor.
This is a descent PC if you want to train your kids on a pc. If you have very minimum requirements like reading ebooks, managing accounts, working with documents then, this would surely be a handy deal.
