How to Sort New Google docs spreadsheet by Date

FB Share Tweet it Google+ Share

I get some good amount of data from my google docs (spreadsheet) page that was published online. My visitors fill in the credential information on daily basis and I usually check that spreadsheet once in a while. By default, google displays the data of my latest customers right at the bottom of the spreadsheet and I want to see that right at the top.

I didn’t find any online help for the newly designed interface so it took some time for me to find out how to do that. In this article I’m gonna show you how you can do that in 3 simple steps.

Open the spread sheet you want to sort.

STEP1:

The first step is to select the total column you want to sort. In the case I want to sort based on Column “A” and that’s date. (Check the snapshot below)

STEP2:

Now its time to open the settings for that particular column. You can do that by clicking on the small triangle on the right side corner of the column.

STEP3:

Step is to sort the total column. You can see that in the following snapshot.

So, hope this helped. Do let me know if you still have any questions.
