T20 World Cup Update 16th March 2016

New Zealand out played India (Check this for India vs New Zealand Highlights) in the first match of the ICC T20 WC. That’s why a prediction can not always be right all the time. And suddenly, New Zealand are looking better than team India. They were clearly dominant in the second half of the game, India looked good in the first half though with Ashwin, Jadeja, Bumrah and Raina bowling wonderful spells.

New Zealand will try to clean sweep the Group 2 and India on the other hand will have to fight hard to get into the next phase of the game.

India are clear favorites; And yes, there are nations who can threat Dhoni’s men in blue. But if you look at things in a broad range, the last couple of 50-over world cups are won by the nations who hosted the sport. Its a home game these days and billions of hearts will be over the game in the next one month. Sensible hearts from different nations will be there too, and everyone thinking the same, India will win.

India had a very good tournament in the inaugural T20 World Cup. India entered the T20 World Cup without any expectations as 2007 50 over world cup was a disastrous. In their group stages they have passed obstacles.

The only tie in World Cup history had happened between all time Rivals India and Pakistan and India won the match by bowl out. The highlight of the tournament is Yuvraj hitting six sixes in a over Stuart Broad.

In their semi-final they faced in-fom and dangerous Australia, when it look like Symonds and Hayden taking away game from India Sreesanth and Irfan pathan took their wickets and brought back India.

Again in the final they played against the arch rivals Pakistan, it was the final to be remembered forever. The game swung between two teams till the last ball. Sreesanth will always cherish that catch which had won the inaugural T20 World Cup.

India Chances of Winning 2016 T20 World Cup

There are very good chances of winning this world cup for India as it is going to be held in India and in the recent times India had won consecutive T20 Series in their last 10 matches India has won 9 matches.

Especially, Asia Cup 2016 win is going to help them alot. The team has just mastered the art of playing in T20 internationals. But playing against teams out side Asia is going to be a different ball game though. None the less, India and Dhoni’s men are highly capable of winning the T20 WC 2016.

If you look at the charts, India has the highest T20 win percentage after the T20 world cup 2014.

They have a right combination of their team. They have a strong batting order in the form of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat kohli, Suresh Raina. They have very good bowling attack like jasprit bumrah, Ashish Nehra.

And in the recent times Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin bowling beautifully and contributing with the back if required. Now Yuvraj Singh has became biggest asset contributing with bat and ball.

Hardik Pandya can bowl quicker and do a finisher role as well as a cameo. What to say about Dhoni he has controlled his team very well. His presence is influential.

In their group stage though they won only one match but they had won it with huge margin which helped them to proceed to Super 8 stage. In the super 8 stage also they looked tentative with two wins and two loss. But after progressing to semi-finals they were hard to beat.

Chances of Winning 2016 T20 World Cup Pakistan.
