Nowadays, wireless routers are used in most of our places like offices, homes etc. To make use of routers effectively we have few tips below:

Find the IP Address:

You have to find out Ip address for accessing router settings .In windows 7 and vista go to control panel and then open ‘Network and sharing Center. Click the ‘see full map’ link and keep the mouse icon on the gateway icon. It will displays the ip address note down the ip address which was displayed . Start your browser and type the numbers into the address box. You will be prompted for the user name and password when the router’s login appears.

Change the Password Regularly:

Default username and password for your should be in your manual check accordingly to that. Change your password regularly because anyone can look in your routers manual so that they will break into your network. Always be sure that while connection to internet Firewall must be in On condition .When you on the firewall people on the internet from gaining access to your computer will blocks.

Restore factory settings:

If your router is playing up and you have tried everything but still can’t get a web connection, restore the router’s factory settings. This is slightly different for each model, so check the manual.

Save power:

If you are at work all day and a sleep at night, your router will have nothing to do a part from turn electricity into heat save energy by turning off it .It will make your router works even much better in critical situations so that life time of the router can be increases. Regularly clean the router top and check the connections thoroughly while connected to internet.
